Making Visible the Duration of Absence

an ongoing project...

Healing circle works using making and remaking with each one whole in themselves. Self-imposed limitations in the making process become a metaphor for the containment felt in one's lived experience of estrangement. Starting, finishing and starting over again as in everyday. One work for each week of a year, multiplied by many years, makes visible the duration of absence.

Each work is made with upcycled yarn, found objects and florist wire. Works range in size from 20cm to 30cm except #10 and #45 which are approximately  40cm wide.
