HOLDING ON
Holding the Line
|
Drawing and sculpture, whilst distinct in their mediums, have long been intertwined in the artistic process. From initial sketches to final sculptures, and artworks that incorporate both elements, these art forms inform and enrich each other.
Holding the Line explores the dynamic relationship between the two-dimensional language of drawing and the spatial presence of sculpture. This exhibition investigates how these practices inform and transform each other, blurring boundaries between surface and structure, idea and material. a joint exhibition with Elizabeth Barr Visit Elizabeth's website Sascha McIntosh Visit Sascha's website Robby Wright Visit Robby's Instagram page and myself, Karryn Argus. Holding on Until you Cure
'Holding on until you cure' investigates absence, vulnerability and loss through fibre-based mediums and found objects.
Karryn creates works with casting plaster and found objects and tenderly holds them until they cure, symbolically embracing the process of healing.
This project continues Karryn’s ongoing interest in the embodied sculptural object and the relationship between bodies, objects, and spaces.
